A 1,340-calorie pizzaburger has made its way on to the menu of an American diner because ‘some things just belong together’.
The heavenly partnership has been created for the Boston’s Gourmet Pizza Restaurant by pitting a half-pound Angus bunger within a cheese or pepperoni pizza.
A traditional burger pickle accompanies the meat, along with a pizza base of mozzarella and pizza sauce.
Dubbed the ‘frankenburgers,’ the creations were initially launched in the spring at a Canadian subsidiary and proved to be so popular that they are now being offered to all 40 branches around the US.
If you have enough dough and equal amounts of dare, then the burger will equate to more than half of a woman’s daily calorie intake and almost the entire daily allowance of fat for a man.
‘We’re not pretending that it’s a healthy product, Brad Bevill, vice president of marketing at Boston’s, told USA Today.
‘You’re talking about a hamburger and pizza wrapped together.’
