A liger has officially been recognised as the world’s biggest cat, measuring in at an incredible 10 feet in length and weighing 922 pounds.
The perfectly named Hercules casts a shadow over his keepers at Myrtle Beach Safari wildlife preserve in South Carolina.
The 49 inches tall crossbreed, born from a union between a lion and tigress, has been given the moniker of largest cat by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Ligers are normally big and in some cases can become double the size of their father and mother.
Internet users have been left amazed by the giant animal.
YouTube viewer Jason Zane Smith wrote: ‘Awesome! Scary, but awesome! That cat could kill you just by sitting on you! LOL!’
Marilee was more taken aback by the mystique of the animal.
She tweeted: ‘It’s a liger. It’s probably my favourite animal. It defends itself with its growing skills in the field of magic.’
